Global Safety Manager

Gerry Johannsson is the Global Safety Manager for Power Solutions Group and its holding company, Maxima Power Group. His primary role is to enhance the visibility, consistency, and execution of safety services across the organization. To achieve this, Gerry focuses on improving the skill set of personnel responsible for incident investigations and enhancing the overall safety culture by emphasizing the core elements of the safety program. Before joining Power Solutions Group, Gerry managed a $4.6 Million operating budget and led a team of over 40 staff members. He has successfully implemented a Behavior Based Safety Process, which has significantly increased safety awareness among management and staff in the workplace. Gerry has also led the coordination of Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews in Canada and Mexico, developed an emergency preparedness plan and exercise program, overseen the implementation of a single root cause analysis process and software, and established a radiation safety management process and licensing for the site. Gerry is an integral member of the Senior Management team and contributes to strategic decision-making to develop site operations and build a strong safety culture.
