Circuit Breaker Life Extension
One of the most common components of a power system to fail is a circuit breaker. They are fundamentally mechanical, and dependent on many moving parts. Two key risk factors are over-use and under-use. Excessive operation leads to premature mechanical wear and lubricant degradation, especially after fault incidents. Conversely, a circuit breaker sitting idle for a prolonged period open or closed, in service or out, may also degrade in condition. Lubrication deteriorates, mechanical parts corrode and seize such that the device will not reliably operate during a fault. Even a small increase in a circuit breaker's time-to-open (measured in miliseconds) can have a significant impact on the potential incident energy in the event of a fault.

Circuit breaker and contactor remanufacturing restores mechanical components and lubrication. It returns a switching device to like-new condition, extending its useful life at its designed capability. Paired with an overall maintenance plan, it allows owners and facility managers to balance the mitigation of equipment failure, arc flash and/or obsolescence risks within a budget considerably more modest compared to full equipment replacement.
Equipment Failure, Arc Flash and Obsolescence:
MITIGATE THE RISK
As a switching device approaches end of life, it becomes difficult to predict how it may respond under fault conditions, thereby increasing risk to personnel and equipment.

We can help mitigate your risk through equipment maintenance, reconditioning and remanufacturing.
